An email which enlightened me!

Our materialistic lives have always interfered with the most pious human emotions we can have – love, affection, care, gratitude, compassion… And with the advent of Social world, we are moving away, although connected. That is a price we all have to pay – we read online articles and are forgetting the ruffle of the morning newspaper, we comment on blogs and miss the immersive evening debates, we like the photos on instagram but too busy to go on a vacation.. Life has transformed.

In all of this, our relations, with other human beings, take toll. It is time now we should invest more in our relations. While I was pondering over these thoughts and I got an email from Mac Anderson, Founder, Simple Truths and it could not have been more timely. Here is what it said,

An excerpt from
The 100/0 Principle
by Al Ritter

“What is the most effective way to create and sustain great relationships with others? It’s The 100/0 Principle: You take full responsibility (the 100) for the relationship, expecting nothing (the 0) in return.

HUZO_LargeImplementing The 100/0 Principle is not natural for most of us. It takes real commitment to the relationship and a good dose of self-discipline to think, act and give 100 percent.

The 100/0 Principle applies to those people in your life where the relationships are too important to react automatically or judgmentally. Each of us must determine the relationships to which this principle should apply. For most of us, it applies to work associates, customers, suppliers, family and friends.

STEP 1 – Determine what you can do to make the relationship work…then do it. Demonstrate respect and kindness to the other person, whether he/she deserves it or not.

STEP 2 – Do not expect anything in return. Zero, zip, nada.

STEP 3 – Do not allow anything the other person says or does (no matter how annoying!) to affect you. In other words, don’t take the bait.

STEP 4 – Be persistent with your graciousness and kindness. Often we give up too soon, especially when others don’t respond in kind. Remember to expect nothing in return. Continue reading

Your’re gone!

I walk alone, walking down the road

seeing what no one knows

talking to myself, conversation grows

This happens all the time, when you are gone

What if I love!

Love Yourself

Society has to approve of it – that’s is how a lot of us decide what we love and like, hate and despise. Are we really being ourselves when we express ourselves? Most of the time, we played in the hands of others, knowingly or blissfully ignorant.

We buy new gadgets because we want to show them off, we love good-looking people because they make us look good, while we sacrifice everywhere to ‘create’ the image we want others to have. Why does it matter? or Does it? Anything is no good unless it serves the purpose – people or things.Would you want to love Haris Pilton when you know she won’t love you back (although she is damn hot!) or would you buy an expensive tablet just to access facebook? Which you can do on any other machine.

Our definition of life has changed or say is crooked – we live for others, oh! sorry, we live to show-off! All the time!

When was the last time you did something, being oblivious of the fact how or what others will feel?

So it goes…

A plain simple truth, is all that we need

when people turn pale, and hearts begin to bleed!

We fear what we know, we fear what is dark

Our Gods are fake and religion is a mark!

Where love is lost and love is raped

where blood is shed and fear is shaped,

I love my life and fear the crowd

for I am different cos I love aloud.

The bond of love

rainbow-flagAnd he whispers, “I will never leave you alone!” as he gets up and kisses his beloved’s only photograph he has.

Raj was madly in love but was scared if anyone will accept his choice. The societal pressure and stigma always made him weak yet the fire of love was burning brightly inside his heart. They were together since last 3 years and no-body knew their well-guarded secret. It was only when Raj’s father decided to marry him, he realized the pain involved. But his was a true love.

That night, he confessed to his father about his feelings. The family reacted as he anticipated but little did he know what destiny had in store for him.Nor did the family know.

They discovered Raj’s face down in the pillow with a note. His last words for his beloved. Along with the note was the scrap of yesterday’s newspaper, which read, “Young boy shot. Police clueless”

If only she knew why

Small dolls were the only possessions she had. Her eyes shone like diamonds, as she stood in front of the bedroom window overlooking the beautiful lake. She stood there, listening to the sound of squeaking hinges of the see-saw in the park. Her father was watching his favorite movie while she continued to stand in the corner. Suddenly, the telephone rang but she stayed unmoved.

Maira - my niece Khalid RazaHer mother paced towards the room, asking her father to get up and get ready. The father grunted and looked at her, annoyed at the interruption. The mother gushed, “let’s go!” as she put on the lip gloss, brought from her recent Paris vacation. The father knew it was futile, yet he labored himself in search of the car-keys in the teak-wood carved drawer in their bedroom. He was irritated and said, “Could you please turn the lights on?”

She stood rooted near the window while a gentle breeze played with her hair. She kept looking outside and did not move. If only she knew, why they needed the light.
